Bennett joined All Steel Building Company in 2006 as the vice president of operations where he oversees all field construction activities and assists the president in administering marketing, project management, estimating and scheduling duties.
After serving in the U.S. Army as an Infantry Captain, Bennett gained more than 30 years of commercial and industrial construction experience. He began his construction career in the northwest, scheduling field operations for a large home builder in the early 1970s. Interested in bigger projects, he moved to Salt Lake City in 1980 and worked for Fluor Daniels on the $300 million Hercules Rocket Motor propellant plant project excelling from carpenter foreman to general foreman. He then joined Obayashi America Corporation in 1990 as assistant superintendent on the award-winning Delta Center in Salt Lake City. Promoted to project superintendent, Bennett went on to complete several projects with Obayashi in California before returning to Salt Lake City in 1993.
Bennett was retained by Phoenix-based Kitchell Contractors for hospital renovations and a new addition to the Pioneer Valley Hospital in Salt Lake City. Upon completion in 1994, he joined Camco Construction as vice president for construction operations/safety officer and achieved a safety record of “no lost time accidents” for eight consecutive years. He continued work for both Kitchell and Camco over a seven state area throughout the 1990s and through 2006.
Bennett has been the recipient of many awards for his accomplishments in safety including Associated General Contractor’s Safety Awards, Labor Commission and OSHA awards, and Worker’s Compensation Fund Awards.
